As an expert in panel heating, egger Wohlfühl-Klima has been working for 21 years on how our customers, with a small budget, can very quickly install a cost-effective heating solution on their own.
Our self-installation kits allow you to take the installation of your underfloor heating, wall heating or ceiling heating into your own hands and create a real feel-good climate in your rooms.
To find the best possible solution for you, we have worked out 3 steps:
Heating costs compressor
The goal is to achieve the lowest possible flow temperature with panel heating. This is achieved by the correct planning of the panel heating and the mode of operation of the egger system. Heating energy savings of up to 60 % are possible, which saves money.
Installation cost reducer
Each project is built differently, positioning the panel heating can save a lot of money in the process. In addition, you save on external installation costs by installing the system yourself.

Store order
Once it is clear how much of which panel heater you need, you can order. The sets are in standard sizes 3, 10, 25 and 50 m² in the store. If you need other area sizes, we will be happy to make your desired size. Contact us.
Joint planning
Once you've ordered, it's on to fine tuning. We go into planning together. Register sizes are selected, heating circuits are determined and everything is tuned for self-installation.
If it now becomes clear that too much or too little area was ordered, we will adjust the set fairly to your wishes.
Delivery in 7-14 days
Your self-installation set is shipped and will be with you in 7 to 14 days, from 2,000 € order value this is even free of shipping costs. Alternatively, you can also pick it up directly from us.

Frequently asked questions about egger self-installation
General
What is the minimum area I need?
Basically, the more the merrier! There is no such thing as too much surface area! Basically, this depends on the desired flow temperature and emerging room climate.
You can find the recommendations in the self-installation sets for floor, wall and ceiling heating.
What happens if I ordered the wrong area?
No problem, it happens to the best! After your order, your set will be discussed with you again. If you measured out too much, you will be refunded the difference - if it was too little, it can be added before shipping.
Where can I find a set with my desired surface?
For technical reasons, not all sizes are represented in the store. Contact us and we can provide you with your desired space.
How much time do I need for the installation?
From experience with previous DIY installers, you can calculate how long you will need approximately. Depending on the complexity of your setup, the values may of course vary.
Include per worker:
- ~ 7.0 m²/h for floor areas
- ~ 2.5 m²/h for wall surfaces
- ~ 4.0 m²/h for ceiling surfaces
Can I have the egger system installed by you?
Yes. We have trained egger partners who will carry out the installation at your site. We will be happy to put you in touch with your local egger partner. To do this, simply contact us.
How much can I save with it?
Up to 60 % are possible. This depends on the current heating system and the area of the new tempered surfaces. The more surface area, the greater the savings potential, since with large surface area the supply temperature can be kept very low.
Can I also renovate my house in several steps?
How do I connect the egger system parts together?
Plastic welding is used to join egger registers, fittings and 16-gauge pipes permanently and tightly together. You can buy or rent a plastic welding set in the store.
And don't worry, plastic welding, is not rocket science. For easy familiarization we have made a tutorial for you.
Which energy source do I need (gas, oil, solar, photovoltaic, district heating, heat pump...)?
You have complete freedom in the choice of energy source, as our system manages with a very low supply temperature. When using an existing energy source, mix down to the low temperature required.
Ceiling heating
What is the minimum ceiling area I need?
You heat only with ceiling heating?
In order to optimize the efficiency and the comfort factor of a ceiling-only heating system, we recommend that you plan for the entire available ceiling area.
You combine your ceiling heating with floor or wall heating?
Since more area is already available, the ceiling heating does not need to be installed over the entire surface. However, especially over weak points such as windows and frequently used living spaces, we recommend adding them.
Is heating only the ceiling enough?
Yes, even a ceiling heating alone creates a comfortable climate. The almost exclusive radiant heat is even perceived as particularly pleasant.
In the case of pure ceiling heating, uninsulated → cold surfaces have a negative influence. If you have an uninsulated project, we advise you to contact us to check the feasibility.
Will the floor be warm with a ceiling heater?
Yes, the floor is pleasantly warm due to the ceiling heating. The prerequisite is that heat is not constantly extracted from the floor (e.g. uninsulated to the ground).
Do you get a hot head?
No. The flow temperature is about 30 °C, so the person does not overheat and perceives only the pleasant radiant heat.
How much does the ceiling heating in the structure?
When every millimeter of room height is at stake, egger ceiling heating can be installed with a very low installation height.
- Drywall from about 4 cm (3 cm if absolutely necessary).
- Plastered from about 3 cm (2 cm if absolutely necessary).

Can I install the ceiling heating in a sloping roof?
Yes.
Is it possible to use the ceiling heating in drywall?
Yes. Is somewhat more sluggish than plastered. You need a slightly higher supply temperature.
What ceiling plaster can I use?
Each. Clay, loam, lime or cement plasters are very suitable. The total thickness of the plaster should be about 20-25 mm.
Wall heating
How much wall space do I need at least?
For the wall area, determine the length of your walls to be equipped. This is multiplied by your chosen wall heating height. Obstacles in the area such as windows, doors or larger installations can be deducted.
Our recommendation for correct calculation:
You heat only with wall heating?
In order to optimize the efficiency and the comfort factor of a wall-only heating system, we recommend that you use the entire available wall surface. The height is calculated from the finished floor to the lower edge of the ceiling, up to a maximum of 3.0 meters.
Youcombine your wall heating with underfloor or ceiling heating? Since more surface area is already available, the wall heating no longer needs to be installed over the entire surface. Especially on exterior walls and places where you spend a long time, such as dining table and couch, we recommend you to install wall heating. Calculate the wall heating at human height, that is, with a height of 2.0 m.
Will it be warm enough only with a wall tempering?
What plasters can I use?
Is it possible to bend the registers (for curves or irregular stone walls)?
Yes.
Can the system also be used in drywall construction?
Yes. Is somewhat more sluggish than plastered. You need a slightly higher supply temperature.
Underfloor heating
What is the minimum floor area I need?
For the floor area, you can apply the whole area of your rooms. Simply calculate the floor area of the rooms. Obstacles located in the area, such as bathtubs, fireplaces or installations, can be deducted.
Will it be warm enough only with underfloor heating?
Yes, because our system can deliver more energy to the room than a conventional underfloor heating.
Can the system also be used in drywall construction?
Yes. Is somewhat more sluggish than plastered. You need a slightly higher supply temperature.
What materials can I use as topsoil?
They have complete freedom in choosing your topsoil. Everything is possible from tiles, PVC flooring, laminate or parquet to wooden floorboards.
What customers say about the egger system:
During the core renovation of our very old house with 120 m² living space, a low construction height was a critical point. With the egger system, this bottleneck could be successfully solved thanks to only 2 cm of structure.
At first I respected installing the registers myself, but with egger's training and planning I succeeded very well. They were installed in all rooms on the floor and exterior walls. The necessary energy is supplied by solar panels and a heat pump, so it can be cooled pleasantly even in summer.
We now live the 2nd winter in the house and even my wife has never been cold. She always notes that we have a comfortable temperature, but you can't tell where it's coming from!
Now all that was missing was the right system to distribute the energy provided in the best possible way in the container. The functionality of the egger system convinced me and the 20-year warranty gave me the necessary security.
Mounting egger registers raises some essential questions at the beginning. How many registers can be connected together? How long can lines be? With the provided instructions, this was quickly cleared up and the system installed.
During installation, the correct arrangement of the heating circuits and the use of welding equipment posed a particular challenge. In this regard, I would like to thank you again for the super tutorial!
In our house we have installed the registers almost exclusively as wall heating. At least one exterior wall and, depending on the use of the room, other wall surfaces. The registers were then plastered with clay plaster, an ideal combination! In the bathroom we have additionally laid egger registers in the floor, who likes cold tiles after showering.
As a doctor, I immediately recognized the crucial difference between conventional heating and the egger feel-good climate and implemented it in my private home (renovation). The comfort and well-being experience is fascinating and definitely an essential part of our health. I am extremely satisfied with it.
In our new building, we invested (slightly skeptically) in two innovations: a new type of experience gastronomy on the farm and the egger feel-good climate. After a short explanation by Christian Egger, it was immediately clear to us that we should equip our new yoga center (600 m2) with egger feel-good climate. Due to the fact that our customers are in thermal balance with the yoga room, the body can fully concentrate on yoga and thus achieve the best possible success (regeneration, store vital energy ...). Our customers are totally fascinated by the climate in the yoga center and enjoy it.
The two most important points for my decision were the energy required and how complex the installation is.
In my 160 m² house I only need a 9 kW heat pump and thanks to the support provided the installation was very feasible. So both points fully met!
