If you're comparing heating systems right now, you probably have one thing in mind: you want to find the best value for your apartment, house or business.

The best value for money in heating systems is defined by 2 factors:

  1. Acquisition costs and
  2. Energy costs.

Often, people only think about the heating technology and the energy source: Should I heat with oil, gas, electricity, pellets or wood is the first question. Or what is the energy efficiency of this boiler, this furnace, this type of processing.

Questions of energy source and technology are the wrong questions!

When it comes to energy efficiency, the question should not be about the energy source or the technology. The biggest savings potential is not in the basement (or wherever you have your boiler, pump, or manifold), but in the rooms that will be heated.

Using another energy source will not solve the problem of your energy distribution system (radiators, underfloor heating, etc.). You only make yourself dependent on the price development of the energy source.

With a better boiler, pump or other technical device you achieve more energy efficiency, but the savings are usually in the single-digit percentage range.

However, rethink the system you use to temper (not heat!) your rooms. In extreme cases, you can achieve energy savings of up to 90 percent at similar or even lower initial costs.
