What to know about the holding clamp
The retaining clip is used as part of the egger system for surface heating or surface cooling:
The retaining clip has two clip connections for 10 mm tubes with a center distance of 80 mm. It can be clipped onto the egger register to fix it selectively to surfaces.
The retaining clip has a hole provided in its center for fastening, with screws and nail dowels it can thus be fixed to the substrate. As a rule, it is placed close to the collector in order to firmly attach the egger register due to its rigidity. Additional point fastening is necessary if the egger registers have a low overlap in wet construction. For these types of setups, you should use additional retaining clips:
- Floor surfaces with leveling compound (without insulation)
- Plastered wall surfaces
- Plastered ceiling surfaces
Should you need additional retaining clips, these can also be obtained from surplus retaining rails. With the help of a pipe c utter you can cut out three retaining clips from a retaining rail. You can find out how to adequately supplement the egger registers with retaining clips or retaining rails in our assembly instructions.
The retaining clip is made of PP-R. This is a high-quality material from the group of polyolefin thermoplastics. This material is 100% recyclable and is even used in the food industry.
Thanks to its high strength and resistance to internal pressure and high temperatures, it is used mainly in drinking water and heating installations. In addition, the fabric can be easily processed into fittings or pipes.
According to the manufacturer, the retaining clip has a heat resistance of up to 96 degrees. However, for tempering you need a maximum of 25-30 degrees of warm water.
The density or DIN value of the material is DIN 4726/8077/8078. In the laboratory, a service life of 150 years was calculated under extreme continuous load (10 bar and 60 °C). That’s why when you buy the egger system, you also get a 20-year warranty.

We needed a bit of practice when welding the egger registers - after all, no master has fallen from the sky yet. We got the hang of it pretty quickly. My tip: Ideally, there should be two of you when welding!
