Near the French border in Freiburg im Breisgau, the company “Fenster Breisgau GmbH” has newly built its production hall.

For the company owners, it was important that all production employees have pleasant climatic conditions in it. However, this is basically not easy with halls, because in summer it is often too hot and in winter too cold. When gates are torn open, the heated (in winter) or cooled (in summer) air disappears. And that makes for frustrated employees and a lot of energy consumption.

Because the company wanted to avoid the unpleasant side effects, it decided against heat by convection – and in favor of radiant heat. This does not heat the air. The heated surfaces radiate the “bodies” in the room.

This has the advantage that the hall doors can always be open and there is still a comfortable climate. And because the egger system can also cool, employees have a pleasant climate even on hot summer days via the radiation from the cooled surfaces.
