What it should know about the holding rail
The support rail is used as part of the egger system for surface heating or surface cooling:
The holding rail has seven clip connections for 10 mm tubes with a center distance of 80 mm. It can be clipped to the egger register to fix them to surfaces.
The holding rail has a hole between the clipped-in 10s tubes for fastening, with screws and nail dowels it can thus be fixed to the substrate. Depending on the length of the egger registers used, they are already equipped with a sufficient quantity of holding rails. Additional fastening with further holding rails is necessary if the egger registers have a low overlap in wet construction. For these types of setups, you should use additional support rails:
- Floor surfaces with leveling compound (without insulation)
- Plastered ceiling surfaces

The holding rail is made of PP-R. This is a high-quality material from the group of polyolefin thermoplastics. This material is 100% recyclable and is even used in the food industry.
Thanks to its high strength and resistance to internal pressure and high temperatures, it is used mainly in drinking water and heating installations. In addition, the fabric can be easily processed into fittings or pipes.
According to the manufacturer, the holding rail has a heat resistance of up to 96 degrees. However, for tempering you need a maximum of 25-30 degrees of warm water.
The density or DIN value of the material is DIN 4726/8077/8078. In the laboratory, a service life of 150 years was calculated under extreme continuous load (10 bar and 60 °C). That’s why when you buy the egger system, you also get a 20-year warranty.

The egger system is not only for home heating and cooling: they can be used for office space, as hall heating, workshop heating or even greenhouse heating.
A great advantage of egger registers: they are suitable for any heat source (gas, oil, solar, district heating, photovoltaic, …) and any surface (tile, PVC, laminate, parquet, wood, …).

We needed a bit of practice when welding the egger registers - after all, no master has fallen from the sky yet. We got the hang of it pretty quickly. My tip: Ideally, there should be two of you when welding!
In our house we have installed the registers almost exclusively as wall heating. At least one exterior wall and, depending on the use of the room, other wall surfaces. The registers were then plastered with clay plaster, an ideal combination! In the bathroom we have additionally laid egger registers in the floor, who likes cold tiles after showering.
