A single-family house in Vörstetten, Germany, built in the 70s. Heated with electric central heating and radiators. 1 1/2 – storey plus a small granny apartment in the basement.

The goal of the client was to install a wall heating system and as an energy source an air-source heat pump.
After extensive consultation, the client opted for surface temperature control instead of wall heating. Thus, we installed wall tempering in all rooms and additionally floor tempering in relevant rooms. The kitchen, where there are no usable wall surfaces, we decided to use a ceiling tempering.

In the basement apartment, the temperature control on the floor was placed in the element panels made of polystyrene. Thus, with a construction height of only 30 mm, an additional insulation incl. Floor tempering realized.

All in all, we installed 56 m² of floor tempering, 71 m² of wall tempering and 10 m² of ceiling tempering. The house was not additionally insulated and is now powered by an air-to-water heat pump. With flow temperatures of 30 degrees maximum, the energy requirement is very manageable despite the lack of insulation.
